"Meghan"
On her quest for her championship Meghan earned a 5 point major and a CTCA Goblet by winning Winners Bitch and Best of Winners, at the Devon Dog Show, Montogmery Co. Weekend under Cairn Breeder/Judge Lydia Hutchinson.
She was a great producer and a very important assect to my breeding program. (see Champions page ) Meghan is the dam of Ch. Scarlet Tananger, Ch. Rose Croft It's the Jitterbug , Ch. Sandpiper and multiple Specialty Best of Breed winner Ch. Gleneagles Guiness O'Rimrock. You will find her in many of my dogs' pedigrees.
How Meghan came into my possession is quite some story. Just before the death of John Green "Loch Katrine", he bred her litter and she was sold as a puppy to a Cocker breeder. Because of ill health this lady never groomed or showed her and called to turn her over to Rescue. Knowing of my involvement with the Loch Katrine dogs, I was called and asked if I would be interested in her.
When I went to see Meg for the first time she had ear fringes about 3" long and a coat that was 4-5 inches long. I stripped her out on the spot. She possessed a wonderful harsh coat and had a new one growing underneath. After watching her free airy movement, I took her home that day.
Two weeks later, never being in a show ring, she was Best in Specailty Match!!! Meg was always a showman, and loved to bark at me in the ring if I did not toss her the ball or hand out enough bait. She, like her father, Ch. Loch Katrine Kim's Piper Dan, could get over, under or around any barrier meant to keep them in or away from something. Though she no longer lives here, she is still greatly missed!
